Death is a haunting word with a stark reality. Today, you are invited to ponder death – the death of Christ, the deaths of those you loved, and perhaps the fact that you also will one day die. (Note: Submit your photos now and tag @OakHouseRetreats #died).
It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. (Luke 23: 44-46)
Prayer:
Father, what was it like to watch your only Son die a painful and horrible death? At times it is difficult to imagine that Christ’s death could bring about my salvation.
