John 19:16-17 (NIV)

Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.

So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha).

Questions:

Can you imagine what a weight the cross must have been on Jesus’ back?

What is feeling weighty for you in this season of life?  Take a moment to offer that to Jesus.

Prayer:

Father, how heavy that cross must have been for Jesus.  I am called to take up my own cross and follow Jesus. Help me to remember I do not do this alone, but accompanied and strengthened by Jesus who knows the way.
